STEVE SMITH (CAR) TEAM TAKE

This playmaker from Utah will continue to be a number 1 wide receiver in 2009. This guy gets it done week in and week out all out all season. I will take this guy in a minute if he is there at the end of the second or early third.

Major man crush here, I truly love this guy in fantasy. Anyone who can consistently make Jake Delhomme look good is a superstar in my book. Averaged an incredible NFL leading 101.5 yards per game receiving. Doubled teamed in every contest and it just doesn’t seem to matter. His heart is massive and his value is too. Expect his touchdown totals to reach double digits again.

Continues to be one of the most dynamic receivers in the NFL despite the shortcomings of quarterback Jake Delhomme. Set a career-high for yards per catch in 2008 (18.2), showing that he isn’t even close to slowing down. Consider him a No. 1 receiving option as always.

Despite missing two games due to using teammate Ken Lucas as a punching bag, Smith put up outstanding numbers again last season. The fact that he does so year after year, even though Carolina has no other reliable receiving threat is simply incredible. If he can stay out of trouble, there’s no reason he won't do it again.

Tadow kid! That’s what I say when I see someone break a long play. And is there a wide receiver in the game that is more of a threat to break the long play than this future UFC fighter? Smith might be small in size (5’9”) and play in a run-first offense, but Smith’s combination of great route running, explosiveness and elusiveness in the open field minimize those concerns. A solid number one wide receiver in 2009 like every other year. Tadow!

Ever once in awhile I read over the takes and all I can muster is a heartfelt "DITTO!"  Top to bottom, I don't have anything to add.
