A major disappointment in 2008 along with the rest of his fellow Brownies. Despite being targeted 138 times, he caught just 55 passes. Edwards’ hands become a hot topic in fantasy circles, but as indicated by the target/reception stat, his hands only tell half of the story. Approach him with caution until it can be determined exactly what the Browns intend to do with their offense.

Forget about the dropped passes, yes he has the droppsies, get over it. If you want value for next season at the wideout position, this is your man. Maybe he isn’t as good as the 2007 version but certainly wasn’t as bad as last year's model either. Still young at 25 years of age, he will re-emerge as a #1 fantasy wideout next season and many will pass on him at fantasy drafts next fall.

Someone apparently spiked the 5 hour energy drink for the entire Browns offense in 2008, and it showed across the stat line for everyone, including the elite Edwards. However, I think the Browns can do nothing but improve in 2009 and Edwards will be the biggest benefactor of said improvement. I fully expect him to bounce back and approach his 2007 yardage total and score double digit touchdowns. Braylon will be a great value No. 2 wide receiver in drafts this year, giving you No. 1 returns.

Did anybody take a bigger step BACKWARDS than Edwards last season? Twenty-five less receptions, 416 less yards, and 13 less touchdowns, OUCH! I don’t think 2007 was a fluke but you have to be cautious that it may have been. I like a bounce back season but I’d be shocked if he ever approaches 16 touchdowns again.

Cautious optimism. I think that sums up my approah (and the general thoughts of the fantasy community overall) for Mr. Edwards entering 2009. A wide receiver that even CAN catch 16 touchdowns, as Braylon did back in 2007, demands a certain level of respect that will have him slotted somewhere in the third round. At least one owner in your league will be quick to forgive the sins of 2008 and take him at the borderline top-10 cutoff (and may very well prove correct in doing so). I disagree that Braylon will come at a discount, only a year removed from the touchdown bonanza. If you want him, you'll need to be prepared to take him in the top 11-12 WR's and ride the wave.

His sub-par season was caused by a caustic combination of poor quarterback play and his own ennui. Edwards appears to take after Terrell Owens and Randy Moss, two great receivers who only exert maximum effort when things are going well. Fortunately for Edwards, though, now that Brady Quinn has some experience under his belt, things ought to improve just a bit in Cleveland and his numbers should bounce back nicely.
