Heath is a lower end #1 tight end option. Although very dependable in the red zone, Miller too frequently provides a two-catch stat line that drives fantasy owners crazy! Did improve numbers in the postseason run though!

Miller won’t be confused for Antonio Gates or Kellen Winslow anytime soon but if you’re looking for a consistent tight end there aren’t many more steady than Miller. I think he’s hitting his peak and could put up career numbers in 2009.

Same basic offense. Same coaches. Same quarterback. Same production for Miller.

Heath Miller is as consistent as they come, but that doesn’t mean he puts up monster numbers for fantasy owners. He is a nice option for those of you who like to wait on tight ends in the draft. Unfortunately for Miller, the Steelers’ passing game is evolving into a more explosive threat (see Santonio Holmes) and that means less red zone opportunities.

Pretty darn consistent if you ask me. And in the Steelers offense, if you aren’t a running back, that’s about all you can ask for. One of Ben’s “go to” guys in the red zone, Miller has averaged a little over 5 touchdowns a season, which works if you draft your tight end after everyone else does.

If fantasy owners weren’t operating in dreamland, Miller would be one of the first five tight ends taken. Unfortunately, blocking ability and intangibles don’t count for much in fantasy circles, and Miller lands squarely in the middle at his position. He’ll never approach the receptions or yardage of the top-tier ends, and it’s unlikely that he’ll ever be targeted enough in the red-zone to make up for that lack of proficiency. He’s an affordable option for those who miss out on the big names.

Because the Steelers’ offense will remain predominately run-based, Miller’s value is always a little bit blunted and he’ll probably never be an elite TE option. However, he’ll benefit from the departure of Nate Washington and he does have a nice chemistry with Ben Roethlisberger. Expect Miller to have another solid but unspectacular season.

I'll make a nice and tidy eight for eight. What you see is what you get with Heath Miller. Won't lose you any weeks and won't win you any either which, in my opinion is an extremely underrated commodity in fantasy! If I stacked a top heavy draft of a top 5 QB, 3 RB's, 2 WR's and needed a reliable TE that simply "won't screw this up", Miller would be at the top of my short list.
