DWAYNE BOWE TEAM TAKE

If you're looking for a wide receiver on the rise in 2009, look no further than Bowe. This third year wide receiver was a model of consistency in fantasy last year, giving something nearly every week. I really like this guy; problem is I am not as sold on Cassel and think Thigpen actually compliments Bowe more. I still look for better numbers from this playmaker.

Talk about a more valuable commodity now. Bowe, along with Tony Gonzalez, will be the main threats for new Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel. Upgrade this wideout on all draft boards. He is young, huge and going into his third full year. Expect Bowe to have a huge season and provide value as a #2 wide receiver.

Bowe is well on his way to becoming one of the top five wide receivers in the game. He flourished even in Kansas City’s quarterback shuffle last season and now, should have stability from the beginning with Matt Cassel. Do whatever you have to short of a felony to get him on your roster.

Stock has skyrocketed in recent weeks with the addition of quarterback Matt Cassel. Bowe managed to improve last year despite the Chiefs’ terrible quarterback options and is now a top 10 receiver. Expect big things from him in his third season.

Bowe put up over 1,000 yards receiving last year, and with the offseason acquisition of quarterback Matt Cassel, looks to be in fine shape for an even better year in 2009. Bowe won’t burn you for long touchdowns (so know that if your league rewards big play bonus'), but he is a good red zone threat. I expect that Bowe becomes Cassel’s go to guy and he knocks on top 10 status this year.

I keep at least bi-monthly tabs on 17 online fantasy sources either by bookmark or RSS feed and no less than 12 have already dubbed Dwayne Bowe as one of 2009's big climbers at wide receiver.  It's not that I don't believe Bowe isn't a fantastic receiver.  He's been an unheralded performer the past two years over in K.C. and, heading into his third year, he's not sneaking up on anybody now.  With Cassel's success in New England and his immediate jump to the Chiefs, even the most novice of prognosticator's are "stepping out on the limb" of a probable bump in stats.  I'm likely steering clear.  It's a virtual lock that he puts up the below numbers.  Problem is, you'll pay for every catch, yard and score because you are in the minority if you can't see this kid coming from a mile away in '09.  And that...is NOT value...the name of the game.
